1. Tournament Details

1.1 Entry Fees: As per the advertised schedules for the series.


1.2 Re-buys and/or Add-ons: Re-entries and add-ons are permitted as per the standard conditions outlined in the advertised series schedules.

Number of Entrants: Events are unlimited unless otherwise specified in the advertised schedule.

Location: As specified in the series schedule.

Start Time: The advertised start time for the Tournament is approximate. The Tournament Director reserves the right to adjust the start time due to unforeseen or extenuating circumstances.

1.6 Food and Beverage: Every tournament entry offers the ability to purchase an optional Food and Beverage package that comes with additional starting chips. This package is not mandatory for participation, and will have no bearing on the total prize pool or displayed number of entries. 100% of the prize pool will be funded by tournament entry fees returned to players.

2. Conditions of Entry – PlayLive Melbourne Events

2.1 Participation in a PlayLive Melbourne event implies your consent to abide by the following terms and conditions.

Entry Methods:

2.2.1 Prior to the Tournament commencement:

(a) Complete an online application available on the PlayLive Melbourne website, app, social media platforms, or via personalized email.

(b) Register in person at the venue by paying the tournament entry fee and any subsequent re-entries/add-ons (if applicable) to a PlayLive Melbourne staff member or representative.

(c) Gain entry by winning a designated satellite seat hosted by a PlayLive Melbourne supporting venue.

2.2.2 Entries will be accepted in person on the day of the Tournament, prior to the event start time or within the designated registration period as determined by PlayLive Melbourne.

2.3 PlayLive Melbourne may specify eligibility criteria for entry into any Tournament prior to its commencement.

2.4 Management reserves the right to refuse any entry application or participation of a nominated substitute in any Tournament.

2.5 Entries for scheduled tournaments will close at the specified time advertised in the schedule, unless sold out earlier. Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of PlayLive Melbourne and its representatives due to extenuating circumstances preventing timely registration.

2.6 Entry fees will be refunded if a Tournament does not proceed or if an entrant is deemed ineligible prior to the Tournament start.

2.7 Entry fees are non-refundable if an entrant withdraws before the Tournament date, but the entry may be transferred to another person as per clause 2.9.

2.8 Entry fees will not be refunded to entrants disqualified from a Tournament, and their chips will be removed from play.

2.9 At the discretion of the Tournament Director, an entrant may nominate a substitute, provided the substitute has not already entered or commenced play in that Tournament.

2.10 By registering, entrants consent to the use of their personal information for future advertising and promotions by PlayLive Melbourne and its partners. Entrants may opt out by notifying PlayLive Melbourne in writing prior to the event.

2.11 PlayLive Melbourne reserves the right to use entrants’ names, addresses, photographs, images, and likenesses for promotional purposes related to current and future poker events.


2.12 By participating in PlayLive Melbourne’s events you consent to appearing in photos and on video taken throughout the events. If you would like to be excluded from photo or video coverage, please inform PlayLive Melbourne in writing or speak to a staff manager during any event.

3. Tournament Format

3.1 The Tournament will consist of one or more rounds and a final table. The number of tables will be determined by the number of entries received.


3.1.1 Tables designated for Tournament play will be used exclusively for this purpose.

3.2 A Tournament Director will inform entrants of the Tournament structure, including:

3.2.1 The type of poker to be played.

3.2.2 The starting chip stack allocated to each entrant.

3.2.3 The Tournament structure.

3.3 Table and Seat Allocation:

3.3.1 Entrants’ table numbers and seating positions will be determined randomly via software.

3.3.2 The number of entrants per table will be at the discretion of the Tournament Director.


3.3.3 Position 1 is to the immediate left of the Dealer, with positions ascending clockwise.


3.3.4 A draw for the Dealer button will occur at the Tournament start.

3.3.5 Seating assignments may be adjusted to separate connected players (e.g. family or associates) at different tables or the final table.


3.3.6 Incorrect seating assignments will result in immediate disqualification, with the player’s starting stack removed from play.

4. Elimination

4.1 Entrants are eliminated when their chip stack reaches 0 chips and no re-buys or add-ons are available.


4.2 Tables will be balanced as needed, with entrants moved to maintain even play.


4.3 In the event of simultaneous eliminations, placements will be determined by chip stacks prior to the hand.

5. Tournament Winners

5.1 The winner is the last remaining entrant after all others have been eliminated.

6. Prize Pool

6.1 The prize pool may include additional value from PlayLive Melbourne and its sponsors.


6.2 The prize pool consists of the collective total of all buy-ins. Any amount contributed to Food and Beverage packages will have no effect on this total.

7. Conduct of Play

7.1 The Tournament Director may penalize entrants for violations, including but not limited to:

  • Abuse of staff or other players.

  • Collusion or soft play.

  • Use of mobile devices at the table during active hands.

  • Any conduct deemed against PlayLive Melbourne’s behavioral code of conduct

7.2 Penalties may include time penalties, hand penalties, disqualification, or removal from the venue.

8. Behavioural Standards

8.1 Encouraged Behaviour:

  • Friendly and prompt play.

  • Protecting your hand.

  • Clear communication of intentions.

8.2 Discouraged Behaviour:

  • Splashing the pot.

  • Acting out of turn.

  • Distracting use of mobile devices.

8.3 Unacceptable Behaviour:

  • Swearing, yelling, or creating disturbances.

  • Collusion or cheating.

  • Verbal or physical abuse of staff or patrons.

  • Targeted offensive language aimed at staff or other players

9. COVID-19 Guidelines

9.1 PlayLive Melbourne reserves the right to cancel, alter, or suspend events in accordance with government guidelines.


9.2 Players impacted by COVID-19 may nominate a proxy for multi-day events, subject to verification of a positive test result.

10. Final Table Details

10.1 PlayLive will help players facilitate deals prompting tournament completion (AKA ‘chops’). At least 10% of prize money deals between players must be reserved for the outright winner.

10.2 Players can propose a deal at any time. Once a deal is formally proposed, PlayLive Melbourne will facilitate an anonymous voting system using red and black cards where each player selects either red (open to the deal) or black (not interested). If even one player selects black, the deal window will close and players will not be able to propose an additional deal until a player is eliminated or after 1 hour of play.

11. Unscheduled Day 2

11.1 Tournaments may be paused between 2am-5am and resumed the following day at 12pm if necessary.

12. Prize Money & Player Payments

12.1 To ensure maximum compliance with AML procedures and ensure secure practice of managing funds, all payouts will be processed via electronic transfer. PlayLive will facilitate PayID, direct transfers, and other preferred methods of secure transfer based on player preference.

13. AUSTRAC Requirements

13.1 Entrants in tournaments with a $10,000+ buy-in must comply with AUSTRAC identity verification requirements.

By participating in PlayLive Melbourne events, entrants agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
